I can't believe a month has passed since my last entry!! Things have been CRAZY over here! Let's see, in the past month I turned 33! (whoa) Priscilla turned 2, Easter, getting things together to start my business,we made a trip back to Philadelphia, we are preparing for a SERIOUS yard sale to get rid of all of the things we don't need and are also preparing for a move to another state (and a vacation right before we move! sheesh)…so I will apologize in advance if it's a ghost town around here for the next month or so!! But once we move and are settled, I will be back to my crazy craftin' self! (I will try my best to blog a few entries before the move too)<br />
<br />
How adorable were their Easter dresses?? I can't stand it!!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
</div>
I can't believe I actually have time to blog this!! I completed this hack about a month ago, and am just getting around to this now!! Things are a little crazy over here!<br />
I have seen this hack around before, so I am definitely a little late in the game on this one, BUT it was my first time doing this hack, so I thought I would share!!<br />
<br />
The best thing about this is that the table costs $19.99. Between that and the paints you need, you are looking at about $35.00 total for a really cute customized kids table!<br />
<br />
First, start by ordering the table <a href="http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50178411/" target="_blank">here</a>. Or just go to the store if you are lucky enough to have one close by.<br />
Once the package arrives take out all of the pieces and paint them!!<br />

<br />
I found that I needed 2 coats of spray paint and about 3 coats of the chalkboard paint!</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

Assemble!<br />
I bought 2 white hooks from Lowe's and attached them to the side.<br />
The pails are from the dollar bin at Target!<br />
That's it!!</div>

<br />
Funny thing is that the first set they sent me was missing a piece so not only did they send me the piece but a whole new one?! What?! So now I am going to make a second one!! I think I am going to do it gold and pink (big shocker I know!)</div>

I love love love me some zucchini bread, and so does everyone else in this house! I have tried so many recipes for zucchini bread, and this one BY FAR is the best. Perfect texture, and it makes two loaves! The only downside I can find with this is that it does have vegetable oil in it. I tried substitutes but it just isn't as good. I specifically only keep veg oil in the house for this recipe, and that's IT. (if this is the only time I am consuming it, I am not mad about that, ha).<br>
<br>
You need:<br>-3 cups flour<br>-1 tsp salt<br>-1 tsp baking powder<br>-1 tsp baking soda<br>-3 tsp cinnamon<br>-1 cup vegetable oil<br>-3 eggs<br>-2 1/4 cup sugar<br>-2 cups grated zucchini (do not drain)<br>-2 tsp vanilla extract<br>-(1 cup of nuts is optional)<br>
<br>-Start by preheating the oven to 325 degrees.<br>-Grease two loaf pans.<br>-Sift dry ingredients. (flout,salt,bkg powder,bkg soda,cinnamon)<br>-With your mixer, blend oil,eggs and sugar<br>-Add dry to the wet ingredients<br>-Add zucchini (and nuts)<br>-Mix well and pour into the pans<br>-Cook for about 50 to 60 minutes<br>
<br>
Enjoy!kellyleehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03635195142655171275noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1934148330718978460.post-42351242895503353552014-03-19T12:51:00.001-04:002014-03-19T14:31:07.445-04:00Leek Dip<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RWaaSp4EChM/UyniWR94BWI/AAAAAAAABlk/NmQWHgFPM58/s640/blogger-image-268390484.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RWaaSp4EChM/UyniWR94BWI/AAAAAAAABlk/NmQWHgFPM58/s640/blogger-image-268390484.jpg"></a></div><br></div> Pat,Annabella and I have a severe addiction to Wegman's Leek dip. Let's be honest, we have a Wegman's addiction. If you are unlucky enough to not have one, it is hands down the best food store on the planet. It even has it's own <a href="http://www.buzzfeed.com/rachelysanders/why-wegmans-is-the-greatest-supermarket-ever" target="_blank">buzz feed</a>.<br>
So we are moving back to the Philadelphia area in a few months…the cheese lady at my local Wegman's informed me that very few Wegman's still make this dip. She informed me it isn't as popular other ones. (which my brain cannot fathom, because it is hands down THE BEST one they make). Now I haven't asked around to see if the stores in Philly make it, but I decided that I am not taking any chances. I simply looked at the ingredients and went from there.<br>
<br>
I used:<br>
1/2 cup of mayonnaise<br>
1/2 cup of sour cream<br>
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese<br>
a quarter packet of french onion dip mix<br>
about 2/3 cup of chopped/sauteed leeks (butter to saute)<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/--zljCSd4XFo/UyniX2FpOJI/AAAAAAAABls/8ID_VupakhM/s640/blogger-image--979592244.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/--zljCSd4XFo/UyniX2FpOJI/AAAAAAAABls/8ID_VupakhM/s640/blogger-image--979592244.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Z62zPKE1ySw/UyniUlcLBAI/AAAAAAAABlc/3yP9RrQ-95U/s640/blogger-image-463116971.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Z62zPKE1ySw/UyniUlcLBAI/AAAAAAAABlc/3yP9RrQ-95U/s640/blogger-image-463116971.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br>
I for one have never prepared leeks before, so here are some links for those of you that also have not.<br>
<a href="http://homecooking.about.com/od/howtocookvegetables/a/leekcleaning.htm" target="_blank">cleaning</a><br>
<a href="http://www.ehow.com/how_2087322_clean-leeks.html" target="_blank">more cleaning</a><br>
<a href="http://www.wikihow.com/Cook-Leeks" target="_blank">cooking leeks</a><br>
<br>-I started out by cutting and cleaning the leeks.<br>-I then sautéed them in a little bitter of earth balance butter for about 5 to 6 minutes.<br>-While I was cooking them, I added all of the other ingredients together.<br>-I used a quarter of the dip packet. The spread we buy at the store does not have a strong taste of this dip. If you prefer a stronger taste, you can add more.<br>-add cooked leeks to the mix and refrigerate for at least 5 hours.<div>- You don't want it to be too "wet" it is supposed to be thicker, so if it's too wet looking you might want to add more cheese, leeks and powdered dip mix ;) <br>
<br>
Now here is the eating it part. When we first tried this dip we spread it on baguettes. I would recommend doing this first!! Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, spread the it on generously and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes. It's heavenly.<br>
<br>
At this point our addiction has taken us to being really lazy and just slathering it on nut thins cold and eating it right out of the fridge. Still amazing, but do yourself a favor and try the cooked way first ;)<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-_mzWZCmHKy8/UyniaR1xGeI/AAAAAAAABl0/t2SxG2BAo6k/s640/blogger-image--1332053945.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-_mzWZCmHKy8/UyniaR1xGeI/AAAAAAAABl0/t2SxG2BAo6k/s640/blogger-image--1332053945.jpg"></a></div><br>

Every since I went purple a few months ago I have been searching for the perfect combination. Although it may have looked good so far, I had to go really dark purple a few times and have it fade to the color I wanted or use colors that were supposed to be pastel purple and just weren't "right". I also found that mixing with regular conditioner made it really splotchy. Someone anonymously posted the formula for the pastel Pravana (since it has been unavailable for some time) and I have to thank whoever you are because it is PERFECT!!! PERFECT!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Mzl2vnqPpic/Uxj7XOX2GmI/AAAAAAAABjI/qrS5jVHeFgc/s640/blogger-image--1164989538.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Mzl2vnqPpic/Uxj7XOX2GmI/AAAAAAAABjI/qrS5jVHeFgc/s640/blogger-image--1164989538.jpg"></a></div><br></div></div></div></div>We had not planned on getting Priscilla a toddler bed at all. Actually, we are moving in a few months and the plan was to keep her in her crib until we move and then as per Annabella's request, get bunk beds for the girls…..well, we have a crib hopper. I watched her do it once and that was enough to get her into a toddler bed! It looked VERY dangerous!<br>
<div>
So here I am searching the internet for toddler beds when I remembered that the front of her crib comes off to turn it into a toddler bed! (duh!) Wanting to make it a little more special, I decided to spray paint it.</div>
<div>
I used Rust Oleum Painter's Touch in "Candy Pink"…I mean…there is even a crib on it, ha.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vMUKWb5ZOwo/UxiWxhDiIEI/AAAAAAAABhE/lK3d0wz0lRk/s1600/3cb49d66-3933-4a9d-9922-aaebb52d5b79_300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vMUKWb5ZOwo/UxiWxhDiIEI/AAAAAAAABhE/lK3d0wz0lRk/s1600/3cb49d66-3933-4a9d-9922-aaebb52d5b79_300.jpg"></a></div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Now, I don't know how safe this paint is for a crib if you have a crib biter. Annabella was definitely a crib biter, but Priscilla isn't so I feel safer using this. You could always use a crib guard to prevent them from chewing.</div>

<br></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I also searched everywhere for decent toddler bedding. I ended up going with <a href="http://www.landofnod.com/dream-girl-toddler-bedding-grey/f13004" target="_blank">The Dream Girl</a> set from The Land of Nod. I LOVE this bedding!</div>

I'm still here!!!! I have had a few people comment on my IG and ask when I will have a new post!! I wasn't feeling right for about two weeks! I have been extremely extremely tired with stomach pain and I pretty much used all of the little energy I had taking care of the girls and making sure my house didn't fall apart!!<br />
So after weeks of going to the doctor, having blood labs done, ultrasounds,sonograms and everything else, it turns out I have a large ovarian cyst. (which is better than what I thought, I was fearing it was my gallbladder!) Now…..most things I read say ovarian cysts are "painless" and "symptom free", well NOT in my case!! This thing has been messing with my life for weeks now! Fatigue, nausea and intense pain, frequent and URGENT trips to the ladies room to pee…I'm talking like every ten minutes. I am basically never listening to google again. Ovarian cysts CAN be painful guys!!<br />
I go back to the doctor in a few weeks to see if the size of it is changing or anything, but I have started to feel a little better the past few days! So do not fear! I will be posting again this week! I have a lot to catch up on!!!!!kellyleehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03635195142655171275noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1934148330718978460.post-62068585631855092122014-02-20T21:17:00.001-05:002014-02-20T21:17:36.978-05:00Jhirmack Silver ShampooWhile I am always on the hunt for good beauty products, they often tend to be more on the expensive side so I thought I would review a very very cheap product!<br />
So there I was browsing the isles of CVS sans children one morning. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE browsing pharmacy isles alone?? I don't know exactly what it is, but I LOVE aimlessly wandering around CVS. I get lost in there, I pick random as seen on TV products up and read the descriptions convincing myself that #1: what ever it is is the BEST idea ever and #2. That I probably NEED it. I spend about fifteen minutes at each cosmetic brands section looking to see if there is anything new. The irony is that I never even buy pharmacy makeup, but I always look.<br />
So while I was on this journey through CVS I decided to spend about thirty minutes in the shampoo isle, and there was this beaut!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_bcWitGpnKc/Uwa1WiwkLLI/AAAAAAAABf8/XUQqnBV0ssY/s1600/500.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_bcWitGpnKc/Uwa1WiwkLLI/AAAAAAAABf8/XUQqnBV0ssY/s1600/500.JPG" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This song instantly played in my head the second I picked the bottle up. (and who am I kidding, it played in there for the rest of the day!)<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/hW319zsEgb4" width="420"></iframe><br />
<br />
(this is totally showing my age, ha!)<br />
<br />
Anyway, I used it and I actually really liked it! The smell wasn't to die for or anything but it did what it's supposed to!! When my hair is at this very light purple/silver stage the silver starts to look a little yellow. It definitely took the yellow out! So for all of you purple or silver ladies, even pastel blonds, it's worth a shot for $3.99!!!<br />
<br />
I am soooo glad my hair is back to being a silver purple!! Even if it will only last another week or so before I have to redo it!! (sad face)<br />

Cooking only meatless food for all of us, I often feel like I am running out of things to make!! I had some extra seitan left over from making homemade coconut curry (which was a disaster, I do not even want to talk about that) so I thought I would replace the chicken for seitan and it was still amazing!<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-kclYhFbWDKM/UxTlCFKs_NI/AAAAAAAABg0/8Mft_NI67cQ/s640/blogger-image--699549224.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-kclYhFbWDKM/UxTlCFKs_NI/AAAAAAAABg0/8Mft_NI67cQ/s640/blogger-image--699549224.jpg"></a></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">You need:</span><br>
Pizza crust (I just used pre made grocery store brand crust)<br>
BBQ sauce<br>
Mozzarella cheese<br>
Gouda cheese<br>
Parmesan cheese<br>
Red onion<br>
Cilantro<br>
Seitan (or chicken)<br>
<br>
I started by heating my seitan in a pan with BBQ sauce. I don't know how much I used, if I had to guess I would say 1/2 of a cup.<br>
While that was cooking I spread the BBQ sauce onto the pre rolled pizza crust. (1 to 2/3 of a cup)
<br>
I then added the three cheeses, onion and seitan.<br>
I left a small amount of cheese to add to the top of the seitan.<br>
Cook for the amount of time the pizza crust instructs. In my case, I baked for 13 minutes.<br>
Take it out of the oven, spindle with cilantro and serve!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xWpq813FizU/UxTlAnXcTZI/AAAAAAAABgs/qdfljgDR-jk/s640/blogger-image--1202957891.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xWpq813FizU/UxTlAnXcTZI/AAAAAAAABgs/qdfljgDR-jk/s640/blogger-image--1202957891.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>

Can you tell I like pretty much anything that includes coconut, oats and chocolate chips?? Apparently that's "my thing" (a really really delicious "thing"!)<br> Not only are they awesome, but they are super fast to make and I had everything I needed except for chocolate chips already in my pantry. You can add raisins.. I eat so healthy 99% of the time so I always opt for the chocolate chips when I am making treats, I deserve it! Haa! <br>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-f6LyiblLmEA/UvgjBwl-KuI/AAAAAAAABac/X9HnXhbTD9E/s640/blogger-image--261707265.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-f6LyiblLmEA/UvgjBwl-KuI/AAAAAAAABac/X9HnXhbTD9E/s640/blogger-image--261707265.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
I have wanted to do fabric tassels for some time now. I have done paper tassels but I like the longevity aspect of the fabric ones. While staring at the gold faux wood grain wall in the playroom, I decided that fabric tassels would be the finishing touch. They are super easy and I finished them in two days during Priscilla's nap.<br />
<br />
You will need:<br />
Scissors<br />
Fabric<br />
Twine (rope or string)<br />
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

That's all! If you wanted to get super fancy you could use a cutting mat and a rotary cutter, I didn't. Although, that does remind me that I DO need a rotary cutter asap!<br />
<br />
I bought a yard of four different fabrics. You definitely want to get fabric that is the same on both sides, or at least not too different. The one fabric I bought was not, and those do not look as good as the rest of them. Lightweight to medium weight work the best for this one.<br />
<br />
-Start off by cutting the fabric 18x24 (I got about three tassels per yard, but I am super wasteful and sloppy. You could probably get 4, haa!)</div>
<div>
-Once the fabric pieces are cut, fold the fabric in half.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Q4IOIeMuoG8/UvgjFhjZhMI/AAAAAAAABas/FZWr3w_jsZo/s640/blogger-image-744056205.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Q4IOIeMuoG8/UvgjFhjZhMI/AAAAAAAABas/FZWr3w_jsZo/s640/blogger-image-744056205.jpg" /></a></div>
-Start cutting the fringe. Cut almost to the top, leave 1 to 2 inches uncut.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-F6cbufmIwS8/Uvgi_fk_E3I/AAAAAAAABaM/5rNL3_hTgmQ/s640/blogger-image--2067110741.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-F6cbufmIwS8/Uvgi_fk_E3I/AAAAAAAABaM/5rNL3_hTgmQ/s640/blogger-image--2067110741.jpg" /></a></div>
-Once you are finished cutting the fringe, open the fabric up and untangle any tangled fringe.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-yI6eoO9OBwk/Uvgi6-IXarI/AAAAAAAABZ0/KP2Da4YePu8/s640/blogger-image--264121181.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-yI6eoO9OBwk/Uvgi6-IXarI/AAAAAAAABZ0/KP2Da4YePu8/s640/blogger-image--264121181.jpg" /></a></div>
-Start rolling the fabric.</div>
<div>
-<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Once it is rolled, fold in half.</span><br />
-Once it is folded in half tie fabric around the loop. I used scrapes of fabric, and I'm not going to lie, for about two I just cut a fringe off of the tassel and used it.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/--IUNDW9ndwc/UvgjDbyQzZI/AAAAAAAABak/P-GASQA2-LY/s640/blogger-image--444702897.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/--IUNDW9ndwc/UvgjDbyQzZI/AAAAAAAABak/P-GASQA2-LY/s640/blogger-image--444702897.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
-Do this about 10 times! I found it to be quite tedious. so I split it up over two days during Priscilla's nap.</div>

<br /></div>
I am so so so excited about this one! We DO have a Chipotle here, the problem is whenever I am thinking about how much I want to eat it I am alone with two kids and it's on the other side of town. No, we don't live in a huge town with tons of traffic but when you are hungry with two small kids, the LAST thing you want to do is drive with said children. When I am hungry I am grumpy. The thought of me being grumpy, with two kids that could also get grumpy at anytime while waiting line to eat is a nightmare for me...sooo, yeah, the only thing I eat there are the bowls. So I am thinking to myself, ummm, it's not that intense, just buy the same stuff and make your own!<br />
<br />
I make the vegetarian bowl and I use:<br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">-Cilantro Lime Rice (I used archer farms from target)</span><br />
-Pinto Beans<br />
-Black Beans<br />
-Pico de gallo<br />
-Shredded cheese<br />
-Sour Cream<br />
-Lettuce<br />
-Corn<br />
-Guacamole<br />
-Scallion<br />
<br />
If you want to make your own cilantro/lime rice, be my guest!!! <a href="http://www.cooking-mexican-recipes.com/cilantro-lime-rice.html" target="_blank">Here</a> is a recipe. I had every intention of doing so until I saw that heavenly box at Target. While we are on topic, if you want to get all zany and make your own pico de gallo, go ahead!! <a href="http://www.amazingmexicanrecipes.com/recipes/vegetarian-recipes/an-authentic-mexican-pico-de-gallo-recipe/#.UvrXmaXIpeU" target="_blank">Here</a> is a recipe for that! I chose to just buy it organic and fresh from the food store this time!!<br />
<br />
The directions are super super easy, you pretty much just heat it up and throw it together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xx17Wscl-Yo/Uvv5yIrLQFI/AAAAAAAABe4/N7pQD9KfKa4/s640/blogger-image--1670640436.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xx17Wscl-Yo/Uvv5yIrLQFI/AAAAAAAABe4/N7pQD9KfKa4/s640/blogger-image--1670640436.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
-Start by cooking rice<br />
-Strain,rinse and warm the canned beans<br />
-Cook your corn (I use frozen corn)<br />
-While the rice is cooking and the beans are warming start chopping your lettuce and scallions.<br />
-At this point I make a quick guacamole. The guacamole I make for this isn't my super fancy guac. For this I just mash an avocado, add a clove or two of garlic, a few pieces of onion,cilantro and a squeeze of lime. You can use this quick one or make your own favorite recipe!<br />
-And that's about it! Add your rice,beans,pico de gallo,corn,lettuce,sour cream,shredded cheese,guacamole and scallions!<br />
<br />
I always enjoy it with a Mexican Coke and tortilla chips of course!<br />

Mostly because of Annabella's attention span, we would do a couple a day but also because I like to get stuff done! This year just rushed over here! So here is a last minute homemade card idea for any of you procrastinating, busy moms.<br>
I had to do over 20, and it didn't take a lot of time at all!<br>
<br>
You need:<br>
Cards/envelopes<br>
Card Stock<br>
Mustache punch/or stencil<br>
Popsicle sticks<br>
Glue gun<br>
Paint pen/sharpies/stamps/sticker letters<br>
Razor blade<br>
<br>
I bought some of the cards at Michael's and some in the dollar section at Target. When I first started this I was going to use a stencil. You can just google stencil and go from there. Then I saw a mustache punch in the scrapbooking isle at Target and snatched that bad boy up! (it saved me soooooo much time!) I used glitter card stock. It's my favorite. It's thick and who doesn't love glitter! I bought turquoise,purple,black,red and pink so they could be for girls or boys. I had planned on stamping the "you a ?" part, but the cards were too glossy and the ink wouldn't dry right, so I just used a sharpie and wrote it on. The inside I used a "be mine" stamp from Michael's. You could hand write any of this, use stamps, or foam letters.<br>
<br>-I started by opening the card and slicing two small slits into the front of the cards.<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-jmHU3GRx_UY/UvrWM8MAPlI/AAAAAAAABcg/RfkvXYwYUi0/s640/blogger-image-973638055.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-jmHU3GRx_UY/UvrWM8MAPlI/AAAAAAAABcg/RfkvXYwYUi0/s640/blogger-image-973638055.jpg"></a></div><br>-I then punched all of the mustache's out.<br>-Put a dot of hot glue at the top of the popsicle stick and attached the mustache's.<br>-When that is dry, insert the popsicle sticks into the slits.<br>-At this point you can really do what you want. Again, I did the "be mine"stamp inside and added some stickers, then had Annabella sign her name at the bottom of them!!<br>-Put cards inside of the envelopes and then let your little one draw pictures on the envelopes and add Valentine's Day stickers.<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-exYcAl6cSt8/UvrWObqxbTI/AAAAAAAABco/l2DbDpLVnvA/s640/blogger-image--120943216.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-exYcAl6cSt8/UvrWObqxbTI/AAAAAAAABco/l2DbDpLVnvA/s640/blogger-image--120943216.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/--uRb4leiLwc/UvrWJ9SczWI/AAAAAAAABcQ/vqiIzwqegrY/s640/blogger-image-1549751716.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/--uRb4leiLwc/UvrWJ9SczWI/AAAAAAAABcQ/vqiIzwqegrY/s640/blogger-image-1549751716.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br></div>kellyleehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03635195142655171275noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1934148330718978460.post-35859419997221224502014-02-11T09:47:00.001-05:002014-02-11T09:47:49.063-05:00Urbanwalls GiveawayUrbanwalls and I have teamed up for a giveaway!!! I had all sorts of fun Valentine's Day crafts and treats that I wanted to blog well before the week OF Valentine's Day. Between us having a bat in the house for a few days…yeah, a BAT and then me not feeling well for a few days, Valentine's Day crafts had to be put on hold. Now that I am feeling better I am frantically trying to finish all of the things I had planned!<br>
I ripped this one right off of Pinterest. It is a pretty popular one, so if you have already done this craft, I understand! But it is just too cute! It has been reblogged so many times I cannot seem to find the original poster to link. So, sorry about that!<br>
It is an incredibly easy AND cheap craft because the paint chips are free. You should have seen me at Home Depot with the biggest stack of paint chips known to man. I actually felt guilty, so I mentioned to an employee that I had a craft to do because I felt like a criminal taking so many! Haha!<br>
<br>
You need:<br>-Lots of paint chips<br>-Foam Mounting Dots (I ised 3 1/2 pkgs)<br>-Canvas (I used 11x14)<br>-Heart Punch<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-DHMulzC4Qjg/Uvkldqc-rdI/AAAAAAAABbU/k5K3p5DdgAw/s640/blogger-image--572911638.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-DHMulzC4Qjg/Uvkldqc-rdI/AAAAAAAABbU/k5K3p5DdgAw/s640/blogger-image--572911638.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-YwMuqZCd5m0/UvklWmMnLfI/AAAAAAAABa8/iTJU1IvdsHA/s640/blogger-image--275314185.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-YwMuqZCd5m0/UvklWmMnLfI/AAAAAAAABa8/iTJU1IvdsHA/s640/blogger-image--275314185.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-r7zCdxnWLYs/UvklgJbAJKI/AAAAAAAABbc/ZLCB0Scmg5Y/s640/blogger-image--589869703.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-r7zCdxnWLYs/UvklgJbAJKI/AAAAAAAABbc/ZLCB0Scmg5Y/s640/blogger-image--589869703.jpg"></a></div><br></div></div>-Start by punching the paint chip hearts.<br>-Arrange the hearts on canvas from light to dark before adding the sticky foam mount. This is where the perfectionist in me had a REAL problem. In my mind it was going to be the most perfect ombre you have ever seen. In reality, I had taken so many paint chips that the tones were not quite the "perfect" ombre but I ended up liking it in the end!<br>-Once you have the color scheme you like, start adding the foam mounting dots to the back of the hearts and attach.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-H47iDSUBUjk/UvkliLyzftI/AAAAAAAABbk/llcTl5kbLU8/s640/blogger-image--1095466832.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-H47iDSUBUjk/UvkliLyzftI/AAAAAAAABbk/llcTl5kbLU8/s640/blogger-image--1095466832.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Z4TV_jOseEQ/UvklbAUQwWI/AAAAAAAABbM/dfMOEIhBvTI/s640/blogger-image-2035882989.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Z4TV_jOseEQ/UvklbAUQwWI/AAAAAAAABbM/dfMOEIhBvTI/s640/blogger-image-2035882989.jpg"></a></div><br>-That's it!! I also really wanted a decal for Annabella's room, but her walls are awkward. We are moving in a few months, so I will definitely get them for the girl's new room!!! Eek!!<br />
<br />
I have <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/62747684/vinyl-wall-sticker-decal-art-flowers?ref=shop_home_active_21" target="_blank">these</a> decals.<br />

<br></div>
So, my picture is not doing these patties justice. AT ALL. The thing here in Erie, is that the ball of light in the sky is not always around and cooperating on the days I want to blog ;)<br>
Last time we went to visit my family in Austin, my sister made these and they are so so so good! You know something is good when every single person in the house will eat them!! I usually prepare them over spinach lettuce with a poached or fried egg. You can also put them in a roll and eat as a delicious "burger", and honestly, I just eat them plain sometimes!!<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<br>
Ingredients:<br>
*2 1/2 cups of quinoa (cooked as directed on package)<br>
*4 beaten eggs<br>
*1/2 cup chopped chives<br>
*1 chopped onion<br>
*1/2 tsp sea salt<br>
*1/2 cup grated Gruyere cheese<br>
*3 to 4 cloves of garlic<br>
*1 cup panko<br>
*extra virgin olive oil<br>
<br>
<br>
Directions:<br>
-Cook quinoa as directed on package and cool.<br>
-Combine the quinoa, eggs, salt, onion,chives,garlic and cheese.<br>-Add the panko<br>
(I usually refrigerate for about 15 minutes so they firm up a bit)<br>
-Form mixture in patties about an inch or so thick<br>
-Heat oil in pan and add patties.<br>-Heat each side until brown (about 5 to 10 minutes depending on heat)<br>
<br>
If mixture is too wet, add more panko.<br>
<br>
I usually get about ten patties out of this. And I also add a bit more cheese because I love me some cheese :)kellyleehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03635195142655171275noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1934148330718978460.post-30061347988730056922014-01-29T17:56:00.001-05:002014-01-29T17:57:14.563-05:00Faux Wood Grain Wall<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vGvTq9TEbfg/UumD8iiEeAI/AAAAAAAABXc/39diS_XTszc/s1600/gold2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vGvTq9TEbfg/UumD8iiEeAI/AAAAAAAABXc/39diS_XTszc/s1600/gold2.jpg" height="224" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I have seen photos online of the faux wood grain and have always been a fan, but it seemed like something that would be a huge pain in the butt. Over the holiday's we went over to a friend's house and the whole wall behind her bed was painted with this wood grain and she explained how easy it is. So I took my butt to Home Depot and picked up the Martha Stewart faux wood grain roller and the Martha Stewart Metallic Glaze in "Medallion". My husband and I went back and forth as to whether or not we needed to add anything to this glaze before using it. In our case, we did not. If you choose regular paint you should look into that.<br />
<br />
You will need:<br />
<br />
*your wall/project already painted with base coat of choice<br />
*wood grain tool<br />
*Martha Stewart glaze<br />
*rolling pin/pan<br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H8RxmAGwTWE/UulPxridu0I/AAAAAAAABXE/YNDiqw2V8y4/s1600/2ddf4bbb-2653-4e04-9d12-ffd4049444f6_300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H8RxmAGwTWE/UulPxridu0I/AAAAAAAABXE/YNDiqw2V8y4/s1600/2ddf4bbb-2653-4e04-9d12-ffd4049444f6_300.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
You can also check <a href="http://styleguide.homedepot.com/spring2012/wood-grain-finish.html" target="_blank">this</a> link out.<br />
<br />
1. To start, pour your glaze into the paint pan. (We ended up using two containers of the glaze for one wall.)<br />
2. With a paint roller, roll the glaze onto the wall.<br />
3. Quickly use your wood grain tool, you will figure out what method you like best. Start by just dragging it vertically and start with the top part and end with the bottom. You want to drag it in an uninterrupted motion. You will want to change your drag each time though to get the desired wood grain effect.<br />
If you do no tike the way it looks (and you probably won't the first few times), you can simply drag the tool over it again, OR reglaze that piece and try again.<br />
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 over and over until the wall is finished.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It is easier to do with two people, as my friend suggested so you can have one person roll a row of the glaze, and then the other person use the faux wood grain tool and repeat.<br />

<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-oEE3gNxMds4/Uuf8fD7oHqI/AAAAAAAABVk/W3OXazzyzug/s640/blogger-image-1009908976.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-oEE3gNxMds4/Uuf8fD7oHqI/AAAAAAAABVk/W3OXazzyzug/s640/blogger-image-1009908976.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
These are my absolute favorite version of protein balls! I have made a few different kinds of the past year or so, and my favorite recipe is the one I found on <a href="http://gimmesomeoven.com/">gimmesomeoven.com</a>. They are quick, easy, delicious and everyone in my house eats them!<br />
The ingredients may seem a little pricey but they go a long way. I can make many batches from the ingredients, so that's a plus!<br />
<br />
You need:<br />
*1 cup old fashion oats<br />
*1/2 cup of flaked coconut<br />
*1/2 cup of peanut butter/or almond butter<br />
*1/2 cup flaxseed or wheat germ<br />
*1 Tbsp chia seeds (optional)<br />
*1/3 cup honey or agave syrup<br />
*2 tsp vanilla extract<br />
*1/2 cup chocolate chips<br />
*1/2 cup dried fruit (optional)<br />
<br />
*Mix all of the ingredients together well and then put in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.<br />
*Roll into balls and enjoy!!!<br />
<br />
*If the recipe seems to wet, add more oats. If it seems too dry add a lil more honey ;)kellyleehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03635195142655171275noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1934148330718978460.post-26768663183834042482014-01-26T17:03:00.001-05:002014-01-28T14:01:38.973-05:00Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Finish<div>

<br /></div>
I love this so much I had to blog it. I have tonsssss of hair products that I never use. The only products I religiously use on my hair are hair spray and dry shampoo. Every once in a while I will throw in one of the unnecessary products just because I have them. (And there are some i really like, but for everyday I just don't always have time for that). Last time I was at the salon getting my hair done by my hair goddess/wizard Nina Childers, (owner of Bella Salon and Spa in Chester Springs,Pa), she said I HAD to try this. My hair is certainly on the fine side. I just happen to have a lot of it (thank god it's growing back after I lost my entire front hair line post Priscilla).<br />
<div>
So I used this after I styled and hair sprayed my hair and WOW- it really really does give your hair a soft "bounce" and good texture. Definitely giving this one a thumbs up. </div>

<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> Wow. Who knew? We have had this old, beat up Expedit thing forever. Actually, we have had a few. I think we gave our other one to our babysitter a few years ago. Even though we are moving in a few months, I haven't stopped refurbishing,decorating,etc. I mean, it's less I have to do when we move right??</span></div>
For the past few weeks I have been redoing the "playroom". I say "playroom" because it is really just an oddly shaped room off of our living room that is supposed to be a dining area…because we have outgrown this house, there is no dining in that room! It is just over packed with toys. So here I am trying to make the best of a small, oddly shaped house with too much stuff! Anyway, the Expedit was about to go OUT THE DOOR but I was like, hmm…let's paint it. And we did. And it's AWESOME. I really wish I would have taken a photo of the before! It was so so so sad. It had smashed shelves, falling off shelves, scuffs, it was a hottt mess. We started out by fixing the shelves and then went from there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ac3DGR71LPk/UuKn0sGwpFI/AAAAAAAABTY/vRsUf8lGXIE/s1600/expedit-shelving-unit__0092710_PE229408_S4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ac3DGR71LPk/UuKn0sGwpFI/AAAAAAAABTY/vRsUf8lGXIE/s1600/expedit-shelving-unit__0092710_PE229408_S4.JPG" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
You need:<br />
<br />
An expedit shelf<br />
Primer<br />
Paint (I recommend satin. I used eggshell, and I have to put a top coat on because it's too flat)<br />
Small legs (wood section of hardware store)<br />
Straight top plate (to connect the legs)<br />
Plywood<br />
Drill<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
-If it is the dark/brown ikea color you have, you need to prime it and prime it WELL. I would recommend three coats of primer. I did two (because I'm lazy) and I ended up having to use three coats of actual paint on some spots. Which is obviously way more expensive than just sucking it up and doing a third coat of primer.</div>
<div>
-While you have your primer out, you might as well prime the legs if you are adding them. And prime the plywood.<br />
-Once your primer is dry, apply paint of you choice. I used Olympic <a href="http://www.olympic.com/color/paint-colors/polka-pink-a32-3" target="_blank">Polka Pink</a>. It's a BEAUTIFUL pink and I am in love with it. As I recommended earlier, I would go with a satin finish.<br />
-At this point I then spray painted the primed legs and plywood gold. Metallic spray paint is hands down my favorite spray paint to use. It dries fast and looks amazing.<br />
-Once everything is dry, turn the shelf upside down and add the legs. You simply drill the plates onto the corners, then add the legs to the plates. (I'm not gonna lie, Patrick helped me with this,ha! So if you aren't handy with a drill, or just aren't comfortable because you are scared of messing up…which you very well could at this step, get a girlfriend,boyfriend,dad,mom…basically anyone besides you that is confident with a drill)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-h5vH-po9W7s/UuKwisQ1DJI/AAAAAAAABTw/BprMlVDiiCg/s640/blogger-image-655634149.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-h5vH-po9W7s/UuKwisQ1DJI/AAAAAAAABTw/BprMlVDiiCg/s640/blogger-image-655634149.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
-Next the plywood was mounted to the back of the shelf drilling at each corner and in the middle.<br />
<br />
-If you have this exact size shelf you can go to Lowes or Home Depot and have them cut a piece of plywood. I had them cut it 30x58 and it's perfect ;)<br />
<br />
-All of that and you have yourself a new, fancy piece of furniture.<br />

<br />
<br /></div>
So, over a year ago I ordered one of those large poster collages from <a href="http://printstagr.am/" target="_blank">Printstagram</a>. When in came in the mail Patrick and I were all like "ohhh this is awesome!!","whoa", "I love this". It was pretty cool.<br />
<br />
Then it wasn't. We could not find a frame for this thing anywhere. ANYWHERE. (and I do not pay for custom framing…no way, not this girl) So we rolled it back up, put it aside and kept our eyes open for an appropriate frame. At least a year past. I started getting super irritated…but then one day I realized that if I cut the print in half I would pretty much have two 20x20 prints and that would go perfectly on a 20x20 canvas. I plan on ordering more now that I am aware of this!!!! (don't even get me started on how far behind I am ordering photos…it gives me anxiety thinking about it)<br />
<br />
Anyway, this is so easy I swear Annabella could do it and she is 5. You can do this with any size photo and canvas. I have seen it done on the black canvases too and it looks really cool.<br />
<br />
You need:<br />
<br />
photos<br />
canvas<br />
modge podge<br />
something heavy<br />
<br />
I started by applying modge podge to the entire canvas.<br />
I then placed the photo on top, and rubbing out any air making sire it was even.<br />
Throw some heavy books on top.<br />
When glue is dry (I let them go over night), take said heavy things off.<br />
If any edges look too sharp/don't look good you can use sand paper and file them down.<br />
Apply another coat of modge podge to the top of the photo and sides of the canvas.<br />
When that is dry, hang it!!<br />
<br />
Super cute. Super easy. You're welcome :)<br />

The truth is that being a makeup artist (on hiatus), I have TONS of lipstick, liners and gloss. It's insane. So I wear different colors all of the time. I thought I would share my current go to natural colors and I quick tutorial for everrrr so slightly over drawn lips.<br />
<div>
I have never had a problem with my lips. They aren't the plumpest, but they aren't teeny tiny. Kinda middle road kind of lips. But I do like to over line then a bit!! When I wear a fuchsia or a red, I definitely over draw them more. But again, this is for a natural day look ;) </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To do it my way you need:</div>
<div>
-concealer </div>
<div>
-nude lip pencil</div>
<div>
-whatever shade lipstick is nude for you</div>
<div>
-lipgloss </div>
<div>
-lip brush (optional)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
For this particular lip I used:</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">-Mac studio finish concealer (it's thick)</span></div>
<div>
-Smashbox nude liner in "fair"</div>
<div>
-Urban Decay lipstick in "naked"</div>
<div>
-Mac lipgloss "please me"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OGB-DYNOw3Q/Utwv7DMnycI/AAAAAAAABS0/4oD6hUVyjtY/s640/blogger-image-1956813626.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OGB-DYNOw3Q/Utwv7DMnycI/AAAAAAAABS0/4oD6hUVyjtY/s640/blogger-image-1956813626.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-7VD58TAFnQc/UtwtunmhvHI/AAAAAAAABSg/qZ-5_DsjAHU/s640/blogger-image--981410403.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-7VD58TAFnQc/UtwtunmhvHI/AAAAAAAABSg/qZ-5_DsjAHU/s640/blogger-image--981410403.jpg" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 1: cover lips and slightly around lips with concealer. Again, I use the thick concealer, and I occasionally set it with pressed powder. If I am doing a non natural color I ALWAYS set it with powder to prohibit bleeding. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 2: line your lips following the natural curve of your lip. Don't go making up shapes for a natural look! Once my natural line is lined, I go slightly on top of that line and re-line.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 3: fill in with lipstick. If you choose use a lip brush, you can perfect them using this OR you can get your pencil back out and using that continue to make the outlines a little bigger with the lipstick and pencil (kind of drag the lipstick a bit with the pencil or lip brush) This is your chance to perfect the lines and make sure your lips aren't all wonky and crazy looking!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Step 4: apply gloss and you're set! </div>
<div>
